Dr. Romain Blanchard received his PhD in Applied Physics in the group of Federico Capasso at Harvard University and his MS from Ecole Polytechnique in Paris, France. His doctoral studies focused on wavelength control and beam engineering of quantum cascade lasers, as well as novel nano-optics technologies. He was the lead scientist in the Harvard team that demonstrated high-power single-mode lasers with multi-Watt output peak power and contributed to the joint MIT Lincoln Laboratory-Harvard effort to develop high-power QCL arrays with monolithically integrated power amplifiers. Dr. Blanchard has authored or coauthored more than 50 technical papers as well as numerous granted and provisional patents. Dr. Blanchard joined Eos Photonics in 2013 as a Senior Scientist and at Pendar Technologies he leads the design of new products and solutions and oversees internal R&D efforts and government programs.
